LOL: Worlds at home, Synonym of success for Europe and your Lec teams?

For the fourth time in history, the Worlds of League of Legends will take place in Europe. That we knew yesterday with the official confirmation of Riot Games of the change of plans and goodbye to China, the region that was going to take care to celebrate the event of the year in the Moba de Riot. But, play at home is really a advantage ? How were the 3 editions in Europe for our representatives?

Worlds Season 1 (2011): The only European victory

The first edition of the Worlds retains a somewhat special place in history. League of Legends was not the empire that it is now, and did not attract so many people. In fact, a limited number of viewers made the trip to Jönköping. Players and teams were not yet entirely professionals.

And for the season 1 , there were only 8 teams participating in the tournament. Among them, 3 European teams (AAA, FNATIC and team game.de) but no Chinese or Korean team ... so although we can congratulate ourselves for a 100% European final, you have to put on East Perspective Initial success

Worlds Season 5 (2015): Europe on Fire

In 2015, Asian teams monopolized the vast majority of the places of honor. We were then in the middle of the Golden South Korea and our European representatives struggled to compete with them ... Koreans were also fashionable, since among the teams of the EU LCS, FNATIC (Huni and Reignover) and H2K (Ryu) had Koreans in their ranks. Solo Origin presented a 100% European team.

The worldwide worldwide, which took place in France, England, Belgium and Germany were quite successful for European teams, since 2 teams arrived at the semifinals. An acting that we had not seen since season 3.

FNATIC and Yellowstar had impressed at the end of your group and crush EDG in the quarterfinals (3-0). Origin spent in just 6 months of the Challengers Series to the semifinals of the World Cup, with a prestigious victory against Flash Wolves (3-1) in the quarterfinals.

Worlds Season 9 (2019): The Sleeping Dream of G2 ESPORTS

In 2019, Europe became the second best region of the world, with a series of solid actions at an international level. In fact, g2 had won the MSI and dreamed of crowned world champion with a final in Paris. Unfortunately, we all know the end of the story and the samurai broke the teeth at the end against FPX .

ROC vs CWA - Game 2 | EU LCS Summer 2015 Promotion Tournament | Team Roccat vs CW Academy Playing a final, inevitably leaves good memories, but the European public had probably been a little traumatized by Chinese omnipotence. Tian , Doinb or even CRISP ** literally martyred our poor representatives ...

But this damn final should not make us forget that the teams of the LEC did very well that year. The group phase in Berlin had passed smoothly: G2 ESPORTS , FNATIC and Splyce had managed to qualify for the quarterfinals. Achieving a 3/3 was something new if we exclude the specialworlds of season 1.
