Halo Infinite: For the first time since REACH there are no assassinations
Microsoft's Shooter Hope Halo Infinite breaks with a tradition: there will be no assassinations. The Stealth mechanics was introduced in Halo: REACH was also an integral part of Halo 4 and Halo 5: Guardians. According to the developers of 343 Industries, the mechanics offers unfair gameplay disadvantages and thus bothers the play flow of multiplayer lots. But the feature may be submitted after the launch.
These are Assassinations: When you sneak behind an opponent and keeps the attack button pressed, a short third-person sequence will be triggered in which your adversary is over. Assassinations are also one-hit kills.
not excluded for the future
In a stream to Multiplayer Mode of Halo Infinite, the developers at the topic of Assassinations commented (via IGN). It is clear that you will not be "at the launch", even if the team is very love the mechanics. The problem is balancing: "It happens in many levels that people just shut them off because they bring gameplay disadvantages."
However, assassinations for Halo Infinite are not completely excluded: the team currently goes a step back to evaluate how assassinations fit into the gameplay loop of Infinite. And if they come back, they should be perfectly fitted so that it is "really meaningful" and they are "always a accessible tool".
