Champions League: VfL Wolfsburg believes in miracles against FC Barcelona
Despite their 1: 5 defeat in the first game, VfL Wolfsburg's footballers have not yet given up against FC Barcelona before the Champions League semi-final second leg.
"We want to show that we can do it better. There is no giving up or giving up for me," said Wolfsburg's international Svenja Huth at the press conference on this game.
24 hours before the kick -off on Saturday at 6:00 p.m., VfL had already sold the record number of 20,500 tickets for the game in the Volkswagen Arena. The previous best value for a women's game in Wolfsburg is 12,464 spectators. At the first leg in Barcelona, a women's football world record with 91,648 visitors was set up a week ago.
The new format of the Champions League "offers a great area to present women's football," said Huth. "It was something special that we were part of the story last week. The fact that so many spectators are expected tomorrow is also something great for us."
The final in the Champions League will take place on May 21st in Turin. In the second semi -final, the two French clubs Paris St. Germain and Olympique Lyon (first leg 2: 3) face each other.
